Leatherface Costume in 2026: Where to Buy, and Why

By Conor Ward · Last updated July 1, 2026

Leatherface is one of the easiest slashers to recognize and one of the easiest to get wrong. The whole look rides on the mask, and a flimsy rubber one gives it away.

So the mask is where the budget goes, and the rest is just clothes. Get the face right and the butcher's getup around it, an apron and a work shirt, costs almost nothing.

Per-retailer reviews

Amazon — the screen-accurate 1974 killing mask

The pick is the Trick or Treat Studios 1974 killing mask: the stitched-face “killing” mask from the original film, in full-head latex with the wild hair attached and eye holes to see through. It’s the same physical mask, model CDRL100, that turns up across several stores, and Amazon has it cheapest, with the deepest review pool.

Across 179 Amazon ratings it averages 4.5 stars, 79% of them five. One buyer who had compared masks online called it the best Leatherface mask they could find, with two honest gripes: the hair runs fuller than the film’s, and the mouth is molded latex where the original was cut out. Another put it plainly as a good replica for a mass-produced latex mask. That’s about as close as this gets without a prop-house budget.

The listing is third-party (sold by Aintree.Emporium at last check) but fulfilled by Amazon, so returns run through Amazon. We link out without a commission until our affiliate application clears; it’s simply the best place to buy this mask right now.

Spirit Halloween — the in-store try-on

Spirit Halloween carries its own licensed Leatherface mask, the Full Mask Deluxe, for $69.99. It’s a different, slightly-less-exact sculpt than the Trick or Treat Studios one: close, but not the screen-accurate face.

What Spirit gives you that Amazon can’t is a store you can walk into. Spirit runs seasonal pop-up shops, so in season you can try the mask on and carry it out the same day instead of waiting on a delivery. That in-hand certainty is the reason to buy it here.

Its small pool of buyer ratings averages about 4.6 stars.

Sizing & fit

The body: a plain butcher’s getup

Under the mask, Leatherface dresses as what he is on screen, a slaughterhouse worker, and none of it has to be a licensed costume piece. The face is the costume; the rest is just clothes.

Also available, not anchored here

The whole look in one box: Trick or Treat Studios, the maker of the screen-accurate mask, sells a complete Leatherface costume with the apron, chain, shirt, tie, and mask for $79.99 on its own site, with the chainsaw sold separately. It’s the real thing, but it ships final sale, and a one-size mask you can’t send back is a gamble. If fit worries you, buy the returnable mask above and add your own butcher’s apron and work shirt.
